As the past 18 months have shown us, we all need to be flexible.

Our 2020 & 2021 seasons certainly didn’t go as we’d planned but because of our flexible booking policy, all of our clients had the option to postpone their cruises, at no additional cost.

Right now it looks like COVID-19 could continue to impact our lives and travels for the foreseeable future.  But that doesn’t have to mean having nothing in the diary to look forward to – in fact a barge cruise with friends or family might be the perfect Corona travel prescription for 2022.

However we completely understand that you may be feeling uneasy and worried about booking future travel because of the ongoing uncertainty of international travel restrictions.

And you’re not alone.

FLEXIBLE BOOKING POLICY

Change the date of your cruise as many times as you need, up to 60 days before departure

with NO change fees

and NO price increases

(within 24 months of your original departure date)

With Serenity Barge you have the freedom to re-schedule your cruise at no additional cost, at any point up to 60 days before departure. 

You can change your cruise date as many times as you need and we promise that you’ll only pay the original price for your cruise, as long as you take your cruise within 2 years of your original departure date.  Like any tour business we do typically increase our prices over time, so this means there are no nasty surprises when you re-book.

This means you can feel totally comfortable about changing your mind if YOU aren’t ready to travel.

Cancel any time before departure

Sometimes events beyond your control mean you need to cancel your trip.  We are proud to offer to offer some of the most generous cancellation policies of any barges cruising in France:

Before 1 January of year of cruise

Deposit refundable

€100 per person administration fee applies  

Between 1 January of year of travel and 2 months (60 days) before your departure

Deposit refundable, if your charter cruise or cabin is re-sold. 

€100 per person administration fee applies  

Less than 2 months (60 days) before your departure

Deposit and final balance refundable, if your charter cruise or cabin is re-sold.

€300 per person administration fee applies  

Pay just a €500pp deposit

To keep things simple we ask for a deposit of €500 per person for all our multi-night cruises, whether you are booking a cabin or a charter cruise.

This payment guarantees your booking and the balance for your booking is then due 60 days before your cruise departure. 

Complete financial protection

Both your deposit and balance payment are held in an independent trust account until after your cruise is completed – meaning you can have confidence that you are financially protected.  

This offers you complete peace of mind that:

  • if you decide to cancel your cruise the money for any refund due is immediately available
  • in the event that the company closes or goes into administration your payments are protected and you will receive a full refund

You'll always deal with real people

We’re always on hand by email or phone to answer any concerns.  Being based in France we have access to the latest information and we’ll do everything possible to ensure smooth organisation for your trip, for example helping you complete an online application for a French ‘Pass Sanitaire’ that shows you’re fully vaccinated.  

And if you need to change your travel plans you’ll deal directly with Claire, rather than just a customer service team.

FAQS

Q: How many times can I change my booking?

You can change your cruise date as many times as you like, up to 60 days before your cruise departure.  At this point your balance payment is due and no further date changes are possible.

Q: Is there a time limit for re-scheduled cruises?

You can re-schedule your cruise for up to 24 months (2 years) after your original cruise date.  So if you have book a cruise for 2022, but decide you want to re-schedule, your booking can be transferred to any available date in our 2023 or even 2024 season.

Q: I need to change my cruise date, but I’m not sure of a new date yet – what do I do?

No problem, we can put your booking ‘on hold’ until you are ready to confirm the new dates.

Once you’re re-planning your trip, look at our availability calendar and choose the date that suits you.  Just send Claire an email and she will confirm your new dates.  As long as your new departure date is within 2 years of your original departure date, your cruise will be the same price as your original booking.

Q: Some of my group can’t travel, can I change the people on my booking? 

Yes you can change the names of the people on your booking at any time, and with no additional fees. 

Q: I booked an individual cabin but now I want to travel with a group of friends/family on a charter cruise next year – can I transfer my booking?

Yes so long as you make the change at least 60 days before your cabin cruise departure we can transfer your deposit amount to your new charter cruise booking.
